Madison HS presents Bye Bye Birdie

Bye Bye BirdieMadison High School Fine Arts presents Bye Bye Birdie. The pit orchestra is a nice mix of high school students and area pros.

I’m playing Reed 3 book which is clarinet and tenor sax and some of the clarinet parts of the Reed 1 book. One of my students is playing the clarinet and alto sax parts of Reed 1. As a matter of fact, she learned to play the clarinet just for this show. I am proud of her accomplishment of playing these challenging clarinet parts and having never picked up a clarinet prior to 5 weeks ago!

What’s the story?

Synopsis: Conrad Birdie is the biggest rock & roll star of the 60’s ever to be drafted. Aspiring chemist and song writer Albert is convinced he can make his fortune and marry his girlfriend Rosie if he gets Conrad on the Ed Sullivan show to kiss a high school girl goodbye.
