SUMMARY:Save the date! Inspired Art/Music Night
DESCRIPTION:We play music while audience works on their art projects. Second half\, musicians improvise new music as inspired by the new art! \nIf you’ve never created your art while listening to live music\, you’ve got to try this! \nArt and Music Together\nBring your art supplies — all mediums are welcome — and prepare for an evening of music to inspire your drawing\, painting\, collaging\, whatever your medium. \nCorey Adkins\, bass\, and I\, saxes\, will play music while you draw\, arrange flowers\, sculpt. We’ll be playing some Bach and Telemann\, some Classical style music\, some jazz and a few original works for the first half of the event. \nInspiration is a Two-Way Street\nWhen we return from our break\, it’s our turn to be inspired by you! We’ll create new music on the spot using your art as our Muse. \nDoors open at 6:30pm. RSVP to reserve your seat: (503) 788-2064. $10 suggested donation.

DESCRIPTION:Join the Portland Wind Symphony and the Marylhurst Music Therapy Student Organization for a sensory friendly concert. \nTypical public concert venues are inaccessible to those who are unable to sit still or be quiet. Experiencing live music in the fine arts is totally elusive to the growing number of people  in our society on the autism spectrum. This is not okay.  – – – The Musical Artist \nSensory Friendly means: \n\nlights up inside the performance hall\nlower volume and consistent sound level\naudience members are free to talk and leave their seat\nprops such as scarves are provided\naudience members are welcome to bring and use headphones\n\nThe Marylhurst Music Therapy Student Organization will provide special activities before\, during and after the show. \nMusic includes classic wind symphony repertoire\, trumpet fanfares\, tunes from Mary Poppins\, Peter and The Wolf\, and music from Star Wars.
