SUMMARY:Portland Gay Symphonic Band presents Concerto Competition
DESCRIPTION:Earth Rising\nThe Rose City Gay Freedom Bands’ Young Artist Solo Competition is open to all 10th\, 11th\, and 12th grade students currently enrolled in their High School band program in the Portland/Vancouver metropolitan area. The competition is open to all students regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. \nThe winner of the competition will receive a $500 scholarship and the opportunity to perform at the Portland Gay Symphonic Band’s Spring Concert in April\, 2018. \nOur program: \n\nAn OutDoor Adventure by Aaron Copland\nThe Leaves Are Falling by Warren Benson\nThe Moldau\, a symphonic poem by Smetana\nSun Dance by Frank Ticheli\nEarly Light by Carolyn Bremer\nSimple Gifts by Frank Ticheli\n\n
