Spring Wind Symphony Show
March 4, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm PST
FreeIs it a show or a concert or a performance? I choose ‘show’ for the alliterative affect.
No matter what you call it, you’ll hear great classical and contemporary wind band literature. It’s a treat for the whole family.
One of my favorite works is a 2014 composition by David Biedenbender, Daybreak Crossing. Oh, wait! Paris Sketches, a four movement work by Martin Ellerby is another favorite. It was composed in 1994.
Then there’s the Intermezzo from Guglielmo Ratcliff composed by Pietro Mascagni and transcribed for band by Tad Suzuki. That’s a pretty little melodic interlude.
We’re also performing Camille Saint-Saëns’ Occident and Orient, opus 25 which Loras John Schissel arranged in 2005 for modern wind band.
Something for everyone!
