I love music…
Any kind of music!
A few years back, I started writing music for other people. I wrote commissioned music for events and anniversaries and annual or monthly intentions.
Composing for You
People would send me their anniversary date and I’d write a piece of music, usually about a minute long. Once I wrote music for a man who wanted get a tattoo of music representing his daughter’s name and birthdate.
I’ve always written music for myself, sometimes just noodling on one of my horns or the piano. In 2015, I took part in a #100day Challenge and wrote music every day for 100 days! That was a blast. It really helped me develop my composing muscle. Listen to Elegy for My Father written on Day 2.
Poetry, Birds, and Retreats
One of the first pieces I composed was setting the poem I Eat My Peas With Honey for four voices. It was a college assignment and I still have the music! (pictured above)
My inner composer hears the sounds of birds singing and chattering in the trees and writes music. On meditation retreats away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, the quiet inspires me and I compose a piece called Contentment. My analytical mind finds music in names and dates.
Ask me to compose for you!
Professional Coach Joan Eden asked me to write music to go with her Word For The Year in 2017. Her word was Resilience. Some pretty cool music I came up with. Listen.
I’d love to write your new personalized theme music or music for an upcoming event. Perhaps you want music to express your annual intention or a new year’s resolution. Is there a significant event coming up that demands a moving melody, a touching tune, a solemn song? Let me compose it for you.
Music is My Language
And I can translate your words into the sounds of the spheres. When you hear your custom music, you will wonder how you ever got along without it!
